“They were afraid to ask him what he meant.”
Luke 9:43-45
Today, we reflect on Jesus’ sacrificial love for us. He already knew what would happen and shared this with the disciples. They could not fully understand how this could be. How would we take this information? It is difficult to accept the truth, yet Jesus reassures us that his way to the cross will give life and bring joy.
Sometimes, what Jesus may tell us is difficult to understand and follow, yet we are called to trust and believe. Jesus is the Messiah; what he has done for us shows his great love for us all.
The more we pray and come to know Jesus as our Messiah, the more we understand his love for us, always guiding us and giving us hope that goes beyond our understanding.
